SCMM 2nd Saturday of the Month "Seal Beach" Breakfast, June 10, 2006

After experimenting with a bunch of other venues, and returning in May to the Shore House for another try, it was agreed that a better venue was still needed for the Second Saturday of the Month Seal Beach Breakfast. For the June event, we tried Ruby's Diner on the corner of PCH and 2nd in Long Beach (just a short distance from Seal Beach.)

The general concensus was favorable, and since we were accommodated so well (No prior head-count required, plenty of room, good food, and perhaps most importantly of all: Corned Beef Hash on the menu), we're planning to return in July.

Judy and I had just returned from doing highway noise field work in Phoenix, and we brought Trevor, our friend and co-worker from Boston, with us to breakfast.
After eating, most attendees continued on to Irvine to see a screening of the Pixar animated film, Cars. More info about this can be found on the SCMM Website.

The usual early-arrivals seemed to have no trouble
finding the new location

This is the parking area behind Ruby's Diner.

Despite a good turnout of about 30 cars,
parking didn't seem to be a problem.

Scott challenged me to find what was
different about his MINI...

Nice body-color door handles!

Obligatory shot of Murray...

Ahhh, the good life!

Hey, no "infinite regression" this time, Lex!

A troop of Girl Scouts had the room before
us. We didn't mind waiting.

We finally get to eat! Some before others...
